The Isis School Of Boat Handling is our well-established Training school, initially ran from our yard in Oxford and now here in Banbury. As a recognised RYA (Royal Yachting association) Training Centre we offer courses in boat-handling and diesel engine maintenance, as well as tailor-made courses to suit individual needs, from the experienced boater who wants to fine-tune his boating skills to the absolute beginner thinking of hiring or even purchasing a boat. Courses can be taken on either our purpose-built training narrowboat, ‘The Dancing Duck’, or on your own vessel.

Our experienced RYA Chief Instructor, Martin Pocock, has been piloting inland waterway vessels (ranging in size from 40ft canal narrow-boats up to river-based 138ft 300-tonne Dutch Barges) for well over 10 years, in both Britain and in France, and is also a qualified DOT MCA Boatmaster having operated passenger boats on both the Oxford and Kennet & Avon canals.

We also offer ‘Boat-Moving’ services on any of the country’s inland waterways, and with our wealth of experience, you’ll feel secure in the knowledge that your ‘pride and joy’ will be delivered safely and professionally.
